Katie Broecker

Katie Broecker is a KSMT-trained dancer, singer, and actor who has been part of the Academy since its opening. Throughout her years at KSMT, she has taken classes and private lessons, performed in numerous productions, assisted backstage, and apprenticed as a classroom assistant. She is now excited to continue learning from and working alongside her mentors as a KSMT instructor.

You may have seen Katie on the KSMT stage as Matilda in Matilda, Jr, Moana in Moana, Jr, the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, Jr, and even Toto in the Wizard of Oz: Young Performers Edition! Katie’s performance experience includes dance captain and featured dancer in Footloose and Grease at the New Castle Playhouse, as well as All Shook Up and Groundhog Day at The Strand. Additional credits include Maria Romanov and Ballerina in Anastasia with Mon River Arts, featured dancer in Newsies at the New Castle Playhouse, and numerous roles in KSMT productions throughout the years. In addition to performing, Katie has gained valuable experience assisting with classes and working behind the scenes, giving her a well-rounded understanding of theater and dance.

Katie plans to pursue a BFA in Musical Theater with a dance emphasis, where she will continue developing as a triple threat performer. She looks forward to building on her training and experience as she works toward her goals of performing professionally while continuing to share her passion for dance and theater through teaching.
